Washington, D.C., November 10, 1995 -- A Bill
on the MacBride Principles has been introduced into the State Senate of
Wisconsin.
Father Sean McManus, President of the Irish National
Caucus visited Wisconsin a couple of years ago to push for a Bill. He
said, "I am delighted that we now finally have a Bill. I congratulate
the author Senator Brian Burke and the four cosponsors Senator Margaret Farrow
(R), Representative Gregory Huber (D), Representative Peter Bach (D) and
Representative Frank Boyle (D)."
The MacBride effort in Wisconsin is being lead by Caucus
leader Mr. Tom Bruders and Nancy Love of the American Irish Political
Education Committee. The Governor of Wisconsin Tommy Thompson (R),
is an ardent Irish-American.
